This 3’ diameter x 70’ tall stripper tower was a turnkey job to replace an existing tower in Sarnia, Ontario. The replacement tower was not identical, but needed to occupy the same footprint as the previous tower and meet up with existing platform and piping attachments. All related plant specifications needed to be met on a specific timeline.

SLEEGERS was responsible for the following aspects of the tower: All calculations; drawings of both tower and new platforms; fabrication; internal trays (including tray installation); painting & insulation.

Throughout the design and fabrication process, SLEEGERS worked closely with the customer incorporating adjustments to the design as changes arose. Some of the new customer requirements fell outside the traditional specification documents and required a custom solution. In order to incorporate these required changes, SLEEGERS used traditional engineering as well as FEA to verify the proposed custom solution, until a final design satisfied the customer and compliance requirements. Although complicated, the final tower was completed on schedule and installation onsite proceeded without issue.
